All work no play

by Lulu on September 17, 2011

This week I read a couple of articles saying that employees who play Angry Birds are more productive. This really isn’t breaking news. For a while there have been articles and research circulating the media on how letting employees goof of on the Internet increases production. More on playing Angry Birds at work, a Huffington Post article…

This is old news and more of societies hard workers must take a stand in making Angry Birds, or any other Internet curricular activates, part of the job description. I remember one of the last times I worked in an office. The guy went over board and gave micro managing a new meaning. I could not text, I could not speak to my husband, and browsing on the web was out of question. I quit in less than 48 hours. I told the dude to get off of his power trip. I am grown and married woman, nobody is going to stop me from taking my husbands, or treat me like I am in high school. I graduated back in XxXx (classified information) :) This “I am the boss and I rule your life attitude”, has to end.

I am not sure how it is in the rest of the world, hopefully my fellow Americans get over this uptight business approach. News flash corporate zombies! There is so much more to life than just working. On the Angry Birds v.s. China blog, you could see the down to earth attitude of Rovio. Nobody can say that they are unprofessional because there success speaks for itself!

The next time your boss catches a fit because you were checking your email, or enjoying your Angry Birds break you can say:  All work no play makes employee very sad. (lol) Or just simple protest and make a stand that you are not a robot, and just like smokers need their “ cigarette breaks” gamers need their playtime! >:0( Vivi la revolución!
